“Variants of Repetition” explores the four buildings on Lichtenberger Straße in Berlin, iconic examples of 1950s socialist classicism. At first they seem identical, yet in the subtle differences of porticoes, proportions and details lies the tension between collective ideals and individual expression. The series invites us to look beyond monumentality, uncovering the humanity embedded in the facades.
