Gianluca Santoni is an Italian photographer active since 1989. After his debut in "L’Illustrazione Italiana", he has collaborated with international publications such as National Geographic Traveller, The New York Times Travel, Geo, and AD, developing over time a visual research grounded in formal rigor and narrative sensitivity.
Today, he focuses on fine art and authorial photography, exploring the relationship between image, perception, and the construction of meaning. His work has received numerous international recognitions, including first prize in the competition marking the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Flanders Prize, the Fuji Euro Press Awards, several Honorable Mentions at the International Photography Awards, three nominations at the Fine Art Awards 2026, and first place in the Architecture category at the 19th edition of Rovinj Photodays.
“I do not photograph to document; I photograph to hope.”
In Santoni’s work, photography becomes a tool to transform our way of seeing reality: to isolate, suspend, and reveal what often goes unnoticed, restoring meaning within the continuous flow of contemporary images.
